Darryl Heller is assistant professor of history and women & gender studies at Indiana University South Bend. He is the director of the Civil Rights Heritage Center. He earned his PhD at the University of Chicago in 2012. He specializes in the history of race and race construction, the intersection of race and gender, 19th and 20th century African American history, and U.S labor history.
